A BIG day

Today was an extra fun day for our little guy....

The day started out meeting Kody at Best Buy so he could get his Christmas gift installed- remote start:)  He's VERY happy with my choice present!  Kemper thought the install room of BB looked like a car dealership(i guess) b/c he wanted to get in peoples vehicles. haha  We only had one meltdown but he got it together(nothing a sucker can't cure)!
After we dropped Kody back off at work we went to the mall so I could drop off a travel seat to a friend.  As I was chatting with her a big train goes by with people on it!(Yes, a train in the mall)  Apparently, they started this new wallet tapping attraction today.  I used to by able to get outta there only spending about $2 on "rides"......today, I dropped $6(+$.75 on a fire truck ride)!!!  Lawd have mercy, folks won't have any $ to shop if they keep bringing things like this in;)  That being said, I do have to admit that train ride was worth all six of those dollars seeing Kempers face light up with every whistle blow and wave from strangers(you all know he's a ham)!
After the train ride we went to a few other stores one of which being Victoria's Secret.  They are having a sale you know & their "intimates" are NOT cheap regularly;)  Anyhow, Kemp is a trooper and while waiting for a fitting room he glanced up at the wall in front of where we were standing and said "dress up"!  The funny part about that is the picture he was looking at was 3 VS models from floor to ceiling in bras, panties and stocking caps!  I had to laugh and so did the guy waiting for his lady a few feet away from us.  I just said, "yes, honey, they are very dressed up!".   His response to that very same photo I'm sure will change dramatically in the next 13yrs;)  We left the mall he was happy.

This evening.....
This evening we went to Kemps 1st MU basketball game!  Poppy B, Namma, uncle Brian, Jimmy, Kody and myself all got to be there for it!  Kemper had a ball.  He did really well and we only had one casualty- a huge diet coke!  A stack of napkins later we were as good as new.  He danced to the music, he called a college aged kid behind us a snowman b/c he had on a stocking cap, he played his video games, watched the game, ate candys, popcorn, and nachos and took a walk w/ Poppy B!  It was a really great time for all of us:)  Kemper also mentioned a few times he wanted to "try try" to shoot hoops with the ball players.....that would make his daddy so proud if he does that one day<3

On the way home we stopped at the "Magic Tree" in a shopping area near our house.  I wanted him to see it up close and take his photo in front of it before they took the lights off- its very cool!  Here's a some photos:

Holidays

It's been a while since I've posted anything.....the holidays will do that to you!

I hope everyone had a wonderful, happy and blessed holiday with loved ones!  We were so lucky to have not only the GG, Paw Paw & Gram Gram in town, but also, Grandpa John and Laurie came down as well!!  Kemp LOVED Christmas and got LOTS of goodies!  One of the highlights Christmas morning for me was when Kemper discovered the drum sticks he's been asking Santa for!  I know he was pleased that all the encounters w/ the creepy bearded guy paid off!;)
Unfortunately, I caught a virus over the holidays and spent most of it either in bed or face first in the porcelain throne!  I will say, I was super lucky to have everyone in town or off work b/c Kemp got plenty of attention that he wouldn't have gotten otherwise.  My mom was a life saver after everyone left and Kody went back to work....I thought I was on the mend until, I wasn't.  Kemper went to play with "namma" for two days, one of which I ended up getting IV fluids and a zofran cocktail!  Im feeling much better and SOOOOO happy Kemper or Kody haven't caught nastiness!
My brother, Bubba and his boyfriend came in town and will be here until the 9th.  We spent New Years eve with them drinking champagne and playing Monopoly!  It was a great way to ring in the new year.....and I won the game so that made me extra happy;)
Extra Special News:  Our dear friends, Dave and Heather Webster had their little boy, Liam on New Years Day!!!  We are so excited for them b/c we know first hand the joys of boys AND b/c we are and aunt and uncle again!!:)
Tomorrow Kemper is attending his 1st Mizzou basketball game and I can't wait to see how he does!  It might be the deal sealer for season tickets next year!!  I will keep you posted on how he does!

Kemper still sleepy faced but so happy to see new drum sticks!!
Kemper playing with his new farm
Daddy scored with the soccer goals!
"NuNu"(what kemp calls my grandma) did a great job picking out the piano book!

Kemper Christmas Day with two of his beautiful grandmas!(btw, don't you just love that shirt!  It was a must buy when I saw it one the clearance at Gymboree;)

Cheers to a blessed 2012!

First snow

Today was the first snow this winter!!  Kody couldn't get to work b/c of all the people slipping and sliding around so he came back home and hung out-lucky us!!  Kody got Kemper up when he got home and opened his curtains so he could see the snow first thing.  He LOVED it!!  He kept saying "snow snow" and soon followed it with "snowman".  Unfortunately, we didn't get enough on the ground to make a snowman.  Kody tried to get Kemper to get it together so he could play with him outside before he made his second attempt to head to work BUT Kemp had other ideas!!  He refused to put his coat on and wanted to wear his suede boots instead of his snow boots- ain't happenin on my watch(suede + water= ruined)!  Kody headed back to work and the little and I headed to the store.  When we got back Kemp had the right boots on and his coat on so he played in the snow with his sand shovel while unpacked groceries!  He loved every minute......it lasted about 10 of those, he didn't have a hat or gloves on;)

Moments that make me melt

Today we went to our friends, Sarah & Rocco's house.  Sarah was kind enough to let me borrow a dress for Kodys work Christmas party.  The "swing by" turned into a several hour play date and Kemper had a blast!  He really enjoys the company of his little homie Rocco and Rocs baby brother Vince(Kemper just calls him "baby")!  The boys played outside for a while and Kemper knows Sarah has popsicles in the freezer, so he snagged one of those too!:)  I just love to watch him play with his little friends.  It's so sweet to see how 2yr olds interact with each other and learn about life!
Another moment:
Last night Kemper put his Godchild ornament from his auntie Beth on HIS Christmas tree.  I love looking at all of the ornaments he's collected over the last 2yrs.  It really stirs up so many wonderful memories!
